What is GABA Rice?
GABA rice is a brown rice that have more GABA(amino acid gamma-aminobutyric acid) than usual.
It is made by putting brown rice in water, heat it with light bulb so the temperature stay around 30 to 40 degrees Celsius. Then leave it for 8-20 hours.
This will make the rice germinates, and cause it to have more GABA.
Due to its exposure to water prior to cooking, GABA rice usually have softer texture than normal brown rice.
What exactly is GABA?
GABA is an amino acid that produced from your brain. GABA helps in blocking nerve impulses that will cause anxiety and stress.
When your body's GABA level get lower due to bad diet or stress, your nerves will goes "unblocked" - thus causing the feeling of stress, panic and anxiety.
